Tom Dixon is an outstanding representative of contemporary British design. Born in 1959 in Sfax in Tunisia, grew up in London. After 1980 for art school drop out, Tom Dixon has established a very successful band and musicians. However, injured in a motorcycle accident, unable to continue their own people as a rock music career. He began to learn welding technology, material and tools to master his outstanding talent in the design are to play, post-punk era in London has become the design cycle of new forces. Later, Tom Dixon design this piece of fertile land in Europe, a lot of success on the classic designs. This hand surgeon from the Tom Dixon's Beat Light series, the outer layer of fog black metal finish, the inner layer is made of casting copper particles, simple, and the purification of the design, added to three kinds of shape, to bring complete mix of beauty. The Wide, Fat and Tall Beat Lights are rated to a maximum of 25w, so are better suited as either a decorative piece to compliment existing lighting, or as a cluster creating a dramatic statement.
The Beat Collection expands with the addition of the Stout Pendant. An impressive 52cm wide, Stout is made from hand-beaten brass coated with a matt black finish similar to the smaller Beat Lights. As the Stout is rated to 100w this light can be hung as a cluster with the other beat lights or alone, creating an impressive design statement
